Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Kansas City, MO. Duties

• Draft complaints, discovery, and various motions.
• Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts.
• Prepare Rule 30(b)(6) outlines and expert cross-examinations.
• Collaborate with engineering and biomechanics experts.
• Manage written discovery strategy in high-document-volume cases.
• Assist with trial preparation and courtroom presentation.
• Argue motions and appear in court as experience allows.
• Develop case themes, liability strategy, and damages presentation.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong legal research and persuasive writing skills.
• Deposition experience preferred.
• Comfort managing complex discovery disputes.
• Trial experience is a plus, but not required.
• Licensed in Missouri or Kansas, or eligible for admission.
• Exceptional communication skills for negotiation and client interaction.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Missouri or Kansas.
