Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Seattle, WA, with a strong interest in estate planning and a desire to expand into related practice areas. The role involves client-facing work and opportunities to grow into estate administration and business matters.

Duties

  • Review estate planning documents with clients and guide them through the signing process.
  • Conduct initial client meetings to gather information and identify planning goals.
  • Draft estate planning documents with attention to legal accuracy and client objectives.
  • Assist clients with trust funding and related implementation.
  • Support the administration and probate processes for taxable estates.
  • Assist with Washington estate tax and related tax planning considerations.
  • Support trust administrations, probates, and taxable estate matters.
  • Assist with the formation and structuring of family businesses and related entities.
  • Manage assigned responsibilities and communicate clearly with clients and team members.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters.
  • Resourceful problem solver with critical thinking skills.
  • Holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member of the Washington State Bar or expecting admission shortly.
  • Legal experience in estate planning preferred.
  • Ability to travel between Seattle and Bellevue offices.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member of the Washington State Bar.
