Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior or mid-level Construction Associate Attorney in St. Louis. The role involves handling dispute resolution, including mediation, litigation, and arbitration, as well as contract preparation, review, and negotiation. The successful candidate will work with a diverse client base, including contractors, design-builders, subcontractors, owners, architects, and engineers. A Missouri law license is required.

Duties

  • Engage in mediation, litigation, and arbitration processes.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate construction contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
  • Participate in motion practice and trial/arbitration preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding legal and strategic issues.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of litigation experience; construction law experience preferred.
  • Experience with construction contracts is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri.

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
  • Ability to prepare cases for trial or arbitration.
  • Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
