A law firm is seeking an experienced Partner-Level Advertising and Promotions Attorney to join its nationally recognized practice in Winston Salem, NC. The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise in traditional and new media advertising, marketing, and promotions matters and will play a crucial role in growing the firm’s practice.

 

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel on advertising, marketing, and promotions matters in traditional and new media, including ad campaigns, promotions, sponsorships, branded entertainment, activations, endorsements, and user-generated content.
  • Safeguard clients’ business interests and brand elements across all phases of a campaign’s life cycle, from conception to clearance, implementation, activation, and data collection and utilization.
  • Advise clients on avoiding and addressing challenges from government agencies, competitors, and consumers regarding alleged false advertising and unfair sales/marketing practices.
  • Lead the litigation of false advertising and unfair competition claims both in court and before the National Advertising Division (NAD).
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships, actively engaging in business development initiatives to expand the advertising, marketing, and promotions practice.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and collaborate effectively with a diverse array of internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Exhibit exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Apply strong negotiation and advocacy skills, drawing from experience in litigating false advertising and unfair competition claims.
  • Manage confidential information and navigate sensitive situations with discretion and tact.

 

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • A minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in advertising law, with a track record of successfully representing clients.
  • Certifications:
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of traditional and new media advertising, marketing, and promotions laws.
  • Proficiency in litigation, particularly pertaining to false advertising and unfair competition.
  • Exceptional negotiation and advocacy abilities.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects.
  • Strong client relationship development and maintenance skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
