Patent Attorney (Chemistry)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Attorney with at least 2 years of experience to join its patent prosecution practice in New York City. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry or a related field and will support patent applications and due diligence efforts.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and international patent offices.
• Support due diligence activities related to patent matters.
• Manage assignments from multiple partners and clients efficiently.

Requirements

• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Patent Bar eligible and licensed to practice law in the respective state, if applicable.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Master's Degree or Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry, organic chemistry, applied chemistry, polymer science, polymer engineering, biochemistry, or a related field.

Certifications

• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
