A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel - Trusts and Estates for its Portland, ME office. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in these areas and will support the development of other attorneys.

Duties

  • Research and analyze tax laws, rulings, and regulations related to trusts and estates.
  • Author high-quality written materials to support client needs.
  • Oversee estate and trust administration, including probate and fiduciary compliance.
  • Manage relationships with sophisticated clients independently.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff both in-office and virtually.
  • Mentor and support the training of other attorneys.
  • Assign work to associates, paralegals, and legal assistants.
  • Present educational materials on developments in the field.
  • Accurately account for time spent on client and firm support.
  • Operate with autonomy and treat others with respect.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Maine Bar admission and good standing in required jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated mastery of legal skills.
  • Ability to lead teams with expertise and leadership skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Maine Bar admission.
