Job Overview:
A reputable mid-sized law firm in Wisconsin is actively seeking a Corporate & Business Attorney to support its growing client base. The position focuses on providing comprehensive legal services to both public and private sector clients across a range of general corporate matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in entity formation, contract negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, and general business advisory services. A background in banking or finance is beneficial but not required. This is an opportunity to join a collegial and well-established team with strong regional ties and excellent resources for long-term professional growth.

Location:

  • Eau Claire, WI

Duties:

  • Advise business clients on legal matters related to organization, operations, and compliance

  • Draft and review contracts, corporate governance documents, and transactional agreements

  • Support clients through the process of mergers, acquisitions, and other business restructurings

  • Collaborate with municipal and private entities on corporate and commercial legal matters

  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel to business owners, executives, and in-house counsel

  • Conduct legal research and analysis relevant to client needs and business operations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general corporate or business law

  • Demonstrated ability to manage client communications and transactional workflows

  • Experience working with both public and private sector clients is preferred

  • Previous exposure to banking or finance law is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Wisconsin, or eligibility for prompt admission

Skills:

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven client service orientation and interpersonal skills
