Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in California to manage individual caseloads while collaborating effectively as a team member. The role requires a strong commitment to client advocacy within professional conduct guidelines, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with diverse individuals.

Duties

  • Independently manage caseloads from strategy to case closure.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and opposing parties to advance cases.
  • Meet billable hour requirements and document activities in CLIO.
  • Comply with Case Review and Court Prep Email protocols.
  • Document client and opposing party communications with email confirmations.
  • Ensure court orders and stipulations are sent to the Case Coordinator.
  • Prepare witnesses for hearings and comply with Strategy Session Memo protocol.
  • Supervise paralegal work and approve documents before filing.
  • Report any BAR complaints or malpractice concerns immediately.
  • Maintain Continuing Legal Education and submit proof to the firm.
  • Assist Junior Associates with case strategy and document review.
  • Collaborate professionally with non-production team members.
  • Remain in good standing with the CA BAR Association.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage caseloads independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to client advocacy within professional conduct guidelines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California BAR Association.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to work well with diverse individuals.
