Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Legal Secretary in San Diego, CA. This role involves providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to attorneys within the firm's litigation practice. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, subject to change based on business needs.

Duties

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to attorneys.
  • Draft, proofread, and revise legal documents and correspondence.
  • File documents with courts and administrative bodies, including electronic filing.
  • Assist in preparation for legal proceedings and meetings.
  • Manage incoming mail and route appropriately.
  • Maintain electronic case files and attorneys' calendars.
  • Coordinate billing and invoicing processes.
  • Prepare client matter memos and track their status.
  • Handle travel arrangements and expense reimbursements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of legal secretary experience, preferably with senior attorneys.
  • Experience in Insurance Defense Litigation is desirable.
  • Familiarity with filing in Appellate and Supreme Courts is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Certifications

  • No specific certifications required.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with electronic document management and time-entry programs.
  • Knowledge of NetDocs, Best Authority, CompuLaw/ProLaw, and Aderant preferred.
