A law firm seeks a full-time Fee Motion Attorney in Los Angeles, California, with expertise in drafting, opposing, and arguing attorneys' fee motions in complex litigation. This role involves pursuing and defending rights to attorneys' fees in state and federal courts, requiring a strategic litigator with a strong command of California's fee-shifting statutes and federal lodestar principles.

Duties

• Draft detailed motions for attorneys' fees in California state and federal courts.
• Prepare replies to oppositions with strong legal analysis.
• Argue fee motions at hearings, presenting lodestar justifications.
• Apply statutory fee entitlement provisions, including multipliers.
• Collaborate with the fee motion support team to collect necessary documentation.
• Manage a high-volume docket of deadlines and assignments.
• Attend fee motion and general hearings in support of the firm.
• Independently manage litigation caseload and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 4+ years of litigation experience, with proven experience in fee motions.
• Deep understanding of fee-shifting statutes and lodestar methodologies.
• Exceptional writing, legal analysis, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational skills for managing high-volume matters.
• Collaborative mindset and effective team participation.
• Comfortable interacting with judges, opposing counsel, and staff.
• Tech-savvy with modern case management systems.
• Preferred: Experience in consumer protection, Lemon Law, or complex civil litigation.
• Preferred: Oral argument experience in motion or fee-related hearings.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
