Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in handling cases across all phases of litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings, attending hearings, and assisting with trial preparation. This role involves working with businesses and entertainment industry clients in complex disputes.

Duties

• Manage and support matters in all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation strategy and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on disputes.
• Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses for hearings and trials.
• Appear at hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit and witness preparation.
• Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and clients to develop litigation strategies.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in business and/or entertainment litigation.
• Experience drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions and legal memoranda.
• Deposition experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
