Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm in Tampa, FL, is expanding its leadership team and seeks an experienced legal practitioner with a robust background in land use and zoning. This senior role is ideal for a strategic thinker and relationship-builder ready to lead client matters and contribute meaningfully to firm growth. The ideal candidate brings a portable book of business, thrives in a collaborative environment, and demonstrates a deep understanding of municipal and development law.

Duties:

  • Lead client engagements in land use, zoning, permitting, and development matters

  • Represent clients before local boards, government agencies, and planning commissions

  • Provide strategic legal guidance on entitlement processes and compliance matters

  • Oversee and mentor junior attorneys and legal support teams

  • Collaborate with internal practice groups to offer integrated legal solutions

  • Drive business development initiatives and cultivate new client relationships

  • Maintain awareness of local and state regulatory changes affecting land development

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in land use, zoning, and municipal law

  • Demonstrated track record managing complex legal projects and regulatory filings

  • Proven ability to generate and sustain client relationships

  • Readiness to contribute to firm leadership and practice area development

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to The Florida Bar preferred

  • Willingness to obtain Florida Bar membership if not currently admitted

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of entitlement and permitting frameworks in Florida

  • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills

  • Ability to manage high-level client relationships independently

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a strong asset

  • Effective mentorship and team leadership capabilities
