Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Pre-Litigation Associate - Of Counsel for a fully remote position available nationwide, including Milwaukee, WI. This role involves handling pre-litigation matters such as demand letters, requests for records, and agency/administrative charges. The position is non-Principal track with a requirement of 1850 hours annually.

Duties

  • Independently respond to demand letters, requests for records, and agency/administrative charges.
  • Assess claims and provide analysis to clients and carriers.
  • Engage in direct client and carrier contact for response handling.
  • Participate in settlement activities, including mediations.
  • Collaborate with the Professional Development team for client work product delivery.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned by firm leadership.

Requirements

  • Admission to the CA state bar and compliance with ethical requirements.
  • Good standing status.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in California employment litigation for Associate role.
  • At least 9+ years of relevant experience for Of Counsel role, with first chair capacity.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, balance demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, legal research, and drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong collaboration skills across Legal Support, Operations, and Attorney teams.
