Duties

  • Advise city councils, boards, and commissions during public meetings and closed sessions.
  • Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and policies.
  • Provide counsel on the Brown Act, Public Records Act, conflicts of interest, and other public law matters.
  • Assist with land use, zoning, and CEQA compliance.
  • Handle matters involving public procurement, real property, and economic development.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong interest and/or experience working with public agencies.
