Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Toxic Tort Associate in San Francisco, California. This role offers the opportunity to work in a flexible, hybrid environment or remotely within California. Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices.
• Independently manage a litigation caseload from beginning to end.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state of California.
• 2+ years of toxic tort litigation experience preferred.
• Experience with asbestos, talc, silicosis, diacetyl, benzene, or related toxic torts preferred.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required.
• Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred.
• Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus.
• 2nd chair trial experience a plus.
• Superior analytical skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Education

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.

The San Francisco office of this firm is frequently involved in trial work, appeals, and general litigation including concentrations in the following areas: insurance, professional liability, products liability, labor and employment, and construction law. The firm generally hires candidates with the ability to communicate well with the firms clients and attorneys; outstanding academic credentials, while helpful, are not required.
