Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Trademark Prosecution Attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join their intellectual property practice in Madison, NJ. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced practitioners in a collaborative environment, handling a diverse portfolio of trademark matters.

Duties

  • Manage U.S. and international trademark prosecution from clearance through registration.
  • Conduct and analyze trademark searches and provide risk assessments.
  • Draft and respond to Office Actions before the USPTO.
  • Advise clients on trademark strategy, portfolio management, and enforcement.
  • Coordinate with foreign associates on international filings and prosecution.
  • Assist with trademark due diligence in corporate transactions.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of trademark prosecution experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with TTAB proceedings is a plus.
  • Patent prosecution experience is a plus, but not required.
  • New Jersey bar admission required.
  • New York bar admission preferred.
  • Part-time candidates will be considered.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar.
