Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney with a focus on healthcare and civil defense in Louisville, KY. The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of experience, superior communication skills, and a passion for legal research and evidentiary analysis. This role offers the opportunity to engage in challenging cases and grow within a dynamic litigation team.

Duties

  • Utilize complex medical research and evidence to advocate for healthcare clients.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft briefs and case evaluation reports.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Perform witness interviews and case investigations.
  • Represent clients in hearings, oral arguments, and mediations.
  • Prepare ADR and mediation materials for pre-trial resolution.
  • Help manage and grow a top-tier litigation group.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience; healthcare defense preferred.
  • Licensed in Kentucky; admission in Indiana or Tennessee a plus.
  • Exceptional legal writing and research skills.
  • Strong command of evidentiary analysis and procedural rules.
  • Confident litigator with clear communication and strategic thinking.
  • Willingness to travel within Kentucky and occasionally to Tennessee.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Kentucky.
