Job Overview

A law firm seeks a patent agent with over two years of experience in computer science or electrical engineering for their Washington, D.C. office. The role involves collaborating with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications related to emerging technologies.

Duties

  • Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
  • Conduct novelty and clearance searches to distinguish inventions from current state of the art.
  • Draft comprehensive patent applications.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to negotiate the scope of rights with the Patent Office.
  • Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.

Requirements
