Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented and motivated attorney to join its New York City, NY real estate practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team. This role involves handling acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings, leasing, and related transactional work.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, and loan documents.
  • Assist in structuring and executing complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Manage transaction diligence, including title and survey review, zoning, and land use issues.
  • Coordinate and oversee transaction closings, including closing checklists and post-closing matters.
  • Collaborate with clients, lenders, brokers, and title companies throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Support partners on financing, restructuring, and asset management matters as needed.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar, or eligibility to waive in promptly.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work independently.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience representing developers, owners, investors, lenders, or borrowers in complex real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with title, survey, zoning, and due diligence issues in real estate transactions.
  • Experience leading substantial portions of deals and serving as a day-to-day associate contact on active matters.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York Bar, or eligibility to waive in promptly.

Skills

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
