Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Williamsville, NY. The role involves working with a dynamic sports and entertainment client base, providing legal counsel, and developing client relationships. The attorney will draft and negotiate contracts, conduct research, and represent client interests.

Duties

  • Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs and provide advice.
  • Develop strategies to resolve matters favorably and cost-effectively.
  • Explain legal options and potential outcomes to clients.
  • Build trust-based relationships with clients.
  • Research and draft legal memorandums on various issues.
  • Review and prepare legal documents, including agreements and contracts.
  • Negotiate settlements of disputes and litigation matters.
  • Stay informed about relevant legislation.
  • Find ethical solutions to legal matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar, in good standing.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in corporate governance, commercial transactions, or intellectual property.
  • Experience with trademark administration and copyright infringement resolution is a plus.
  • Commitment to ethical behavior and legal compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Westlaw.
  • 1,800 annual billable hours requirement.
  • Book of business is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD)

Certifications
