A law firm seeks to hire talented Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associates to join its expanding team in New York. This role is ideal for attorneys with 2 to 8 years of experience in bankruptcy law who are eager to represent clients such as creditors' committees, indenture trustees, landlords, and trade creditors. The firm is committed to fostering a collaborative environment where associates can thrive and grow.

Duties

  • Handle a diverse caseload involving bankruptcy proceedings and restructuring matters.
  • Conduct substantive court appearances on behalf of clients.
  • Represent creditors in various capacities during bankruptcy cases.
  • Draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients to provide updates on case developments.
  • Collaborate with team members across offices to develop comprehensive legal strategies.
  • Perform legal research and analysis to support case preparation and client representation.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 2 to 8 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-relations skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Active bar admission in the attorney’s resident and/or affiliated office.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the state bar where the attorney practices.

Skills

  • Proficient in legal research and drafting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing high-quality legal services.
