Senior Family Attorney

A law firm in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Family Attorney to provide strategic legal representation and counsel to clients in family law matters. The ideal candidate will have strong courtroom experience, legal research skills, and the ability to manage complex cases effectively.

Duties:

• Conduct strategy meetings with clients at the start of representation to discuss legal options and case strategy.
• Advise clients on litigation strategies and settlement options throughout the legal process.
• Review and respond to correspondence from clients and opposing counsel.
• Prepare clients for hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
• Develop comprehensive case strategies and provide oversight to case strategy teams for complex cases, including those set for long cause hearings.
• Represent clients in litigation at various hearings and proceedings.
• Serve as first chair in trials as necessary.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed by the California State Bar and in good standing.
• 2+ years of experience practicing family law, with a focus on courtroom advocacy.
• Strong courtroom experience, including trial advocacy class or programs, and/or participation in trial competitions.
• Demonstrated interest and commitment to family law.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and handle multiple deadlines effectively.
