Job Overview

Multiple leading law firms across the United States — including Am Law firms, mid-sized practices, environmental boutiques, and energy-focused groups — are actively seeking Environmental Attorneys with 1–10+ years of experience.
Demand for environmental expertise is rising rapidly due to increased regulation, ESG priorities, and major development activity nationwide.

If you have experience in environmental matters, including:

  • Regulatory compliance (federal or state, including EPA, CEQA, NEPA)

  • Environmental litigation and enforcement defense

  • Air, water, or wetlands permitting

  • Hazardous waste issues (RCRA/CERCLA)

  • Climate change, renewable energy, or sustainability matters

  • Environmental due diligence in corporate transactions

Duties

  • Advise clients on compliance with federal and state environmental laws and regulations.

  • Handle environmental litigation, enforcement actions, and administrative proceedings.

  • Manage permitting processes involving air, water, wetlands, and related areas.

  • Address hazardous waste and remediation matters, including RCRA and CERCLA.

  • Counsel clients on ESG, renewable energy, climate-related regulatory issues, and sustainability policies.

  • Conduct environmental due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and development projects.

Requirements

  • 1–10+ years of environmental law experience.

  • Background in regulatory compliance and environmental litigation.

  • Familiarity with environmental permitting and hazardous waste regulations.

  • Experience with climate, renewable energy, or ESG-related matters.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
