Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Ithaca, NY. This role involves representing clients in EB-5 immigration-related matters, focusing on investment immigration legal services. The attorney will collaborate with firm leadership to develop strategies, supervise paralegal work, and support the expansion of the firm's immigration legal offerings.

Duties

  • Represent individual EB-5 investors throughout the immigration process, including preparing and filing USCIS/DOS forms.
  • Review and advise on source and path of funds documentation for compliance with USCIS standards.
  • Respond to Requests for Evidence and other USCIS requests related to pending immigration filings.
  • Represent EB-5 project stakeholders in submitting applications demonstrating compliance with relevant laws.
  • Conduct legal research and provide guidance on EB-5 law and USCIS policies.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and client service standards.
  • Participate in firm administrative meetings and business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York (or pending NY Bar Admission).
  • State licensure in good standing.
  • 2+ years of practicing immigration law preferred; EB-5 immigration experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing capability; ability to manage competing deadlines and exercise independent judgment.
