Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Public Finance Practice Group in Washington, D.C. The role involves guiding clients through various tax-exempt and taxable financings across sectors such as non-profit, higher education, and healthcare.

Duties

  • Review, draft, and analyze credit support, tax, construction, and management agreements.
  • Draft and negotiate financing and offering documents, certificates, and opinions.
  • Review and analyze complex federal tax issues.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in debt finance, public finance, or project finance at a top 100 law firm.
  • Experience with real estate, secured lending, and tax-exempt finance transactions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Strong academic record with excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • DC Bar membership required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active DC Bar membership.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex transactions.
