Duties

  • Review discovery and evidence for federal criminal defense cases.
  • Draft and file pretrial motions.
  • Prepare for trials and hearings.
  • Advise and interview clients.
  • Support lead counsel in court appearances.
  • Handle compassionate release and federal appeals.
  • Conduct legal research and draft briefs and memoranda.
  • Maintain organized caseload and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or eligible for immediate licensure.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Courtroom experience preferred.
  • Experience in criminal defense, public defender's office, or prosecutor's office is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage a heavy caseload.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within North Carolina.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or eligible for immediate licensure.
