Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior-level Associate in Greensboro, NC, to join the Patent Prosecution and Litigation Practice Group on the Electrical Engineering and Software Team.

Duties

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications.
  • Engage in patent litigation activities.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex legal matters.
  • Provide legal advice on intellectual property issues.

Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of IP experience in drafting and patent prosecution.
  • Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field.
  • Experience with AI/machine learning, software design, semiconductors, and medical devices is a plus.
  • Licensed to practice law or ability to become licensed in the state of employment.
  • Member of the USPTO.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.

Education

  • Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field preferred.

Certifications

  • USPTO membership required.
