Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior-level Associate in Columbia, SC, to join the Patent Prosecution and Litigation Practice Group on the Electrical Engineering and Software Team.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Engage in litigation related to patent matters.
• Collaborate with team members on complex legal issues.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed to practice law or eligible for licensing in the state of employment.
• Member of the USPTO.
• Experience with AI/machine learning, software design, semiconductors, and medical devices is a plus.

Education

• Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field.

Certifications

• USPTO membership.
