A law firm seeks a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its Richmond, Virginia office. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 1-5 years of litigation experience to handle a variety of labor and employment matters, working with sophisticated clients on cutting-edge legal issues. The role offers flexibility in working arrangements, including the option to work hybrid, in-office, or remotely, depending on the candidate's preference and location.

Duties

  • Represent clients in labor and employment litigation matters, including wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination cases, and other related issues
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
  • Manage all phases of litigation from case initiation through resolution, collaborating with senior attorneys
  • Provide insightful legal counsel to clients, assisting them in navigating complex labor and employment regulations
  • Actively contribute to business development and client relationship building
  • Participate in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while maintaining individual case responsibility

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of litigation experience, with a preference for background in labor and employment law; general civil litigation experience will also be considered
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent academic credentials and a demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters
  • Highly motivated to contribute to a busy national practice and assume responsibility for a diverse caseload
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Virginia and be in good standing

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Virginia bar membership in good standing
