Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in personal injury litigation, capable of managing an active caseload and directing support staff. Strong skills in case analysis, legal research, writing, and communication are essential, along with knowledge of CPLR and court operations in New York.

Duties

  • Draft motions and opposition papers, and prepare and review pleadings and discovery documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare/edit legal documents.
  • Review and manage case files effectively.
  • Communicate with clients, adversaries, judges, and court personnel.
  • Oversee the work of paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in a New York personal injury law firm.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Proficiency in online legal research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, expeditiously and accurately.
  • Knowledge of New York City courts and their procedures.
  • Admission to practice in New York State.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the New York State Bar.
