Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney for its New Jersey office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients on complex intellectual property matters, leveraging both local and global platforms.

Duties

  • Support the strategic development and procurement of patent portfolios.
  • Draft and prosecute chemical- and mechanical-related patent applications.
  • Manage global patent portfolios (preferred).
  • Prepare opinions concerning freedom-to-operate (preferred).

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of focused experience in relevant areas.
  • Good standing with the New Jersey Bar or admission as soon as practicable.
  • Registered to practice before the USPTO.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with clients.

Education

  • Degree or advanced degree in chemical engineering preferred.
  • Degrees in materials science, chemistry, or relevant experience considered.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar.
  • USPTO registration.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of chemistry and related principles.
