Duties

  • Draft detailed motions for attorneys' fees in California state and federal courts.
  • Prepare replies to oppositions with strong legal analysis.
  • Argue fee motions at hearings, presenting lodestar justifications.
  • Apply statutory fee entitlement provisions, including multipliers.
  • Collaborate with the fee motion support team to collect necessary documentation.
  • Manage a high-volume docket of deadlines and assignments.
  • Attend fee motion and general hearings in support of the firm.
  • Independently manage litigation caseload and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 4+ years of litigation experience, with proven experience in fee motions.
  • Deep understanding of fee-shifting statutes and lodestar methodologies.
  • Exceptional writing, legal analysis, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing high-volume matters.
  • Collaborative mindset and effective team participation.
  • Comfortable interacting with judges, opposing counsel, and staff.
  • Tech-savvy with modern case management systems and billing tools.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California State Bar license.
