Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney with over three years of insurance defense litigation experience to join their Fort Lauderdale, FL office. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload and grow within a dynamic, trial-focused environment.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions.
• Take and defend fact and expert depositions.
• Manage discovery and case strategy.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and pre-trial conferences.
• Communicate directly with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel.
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as needed.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Florida.
• Over three years of experience in insurance defense and general civil litigation.
• Experience with construction defect, premises liability, and professional liability preferred.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Proven ability to handle discovery, motion practice, and depositions independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Team-oriented with a proactive, client-focused approach.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Florida.
