Job Overview

A law firm seeks Associate and Senior Attorneys for its Oakland, California office. Duties

  • Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, including mediations and trial preparation.
  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Conduct legal research on complex real estate and foreclosure issues.
  • Manage cases from inception through resolution, ensuring compliance with court rules.
  • Counsel clients on case strategy, risk, and outcomes.
  • Senior Attorney will oversee and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals.

Requirements

  • Active California State Bar license in good standing.
  • Associate: Minimum 5 years of litigation experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of real estate law experience required.
  • Real estate transaction experience is a plus.
  • Strong experience in drafting motions and courtroom advocacy.
  • Proven success in depositions and mediations.
  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a full litigation caseload independently.
  • Law Review, clerkship, or appellate experience preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California State Bar license.
