A law firm seeks a full-time associate attorney in Virginia with 0-5 years of experience. The firm handles a range of family law matters, including divorce, custody, and asset division, providing opportunities for client interaction and courtroom experience.

Duties

  • Engage in client contact and provide hands-on legal experience.
  • Represent clients in Circuit and Juvenile Courts.
  • Draft settlement agreements and other legal contracts.
  • Prepare pleadings for litigation, including discovery requests and responses.
  • Assist clients in dispute resolution through litigation, negotiation, collaborative law, and mediation.

Requirements

  • Virginia State Bar License in good standing.
  • 0-5 years of legal experience in divorce and family law in Virginia.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Virginia State Bar membership.

Skills

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
