Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced mid-to-senior level attorney to join their Professional Consulting Practice Group in Dallas, TX. The role involves providing risk management and claims monitoring services, with a focus on large complex infrastructure projects across the United States and Canada.

Duties

  • Provide specialized risk management and claims avoidance mitigation advice.
  • Conduct contract reviews and seminars.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and monitor defense of complex professional liability claims.
  • Act as a liaison to underwriters and senior claim adjusters.
  • Offer strategic input and evaluate defense strategies.
  • Develop and manage resolution strategies.
  • Interface with clients, insurers, and other project participants.
  • Negotiate resolution of claims.
  • Evaluate, manage, and provide strategic direction on significant complex construction disputes and litigation matters.
  • Engage in risk management of high-value claims on large, complex projects.
  • Engage and manage local counsel on a substantive basis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and industry experts to resolve complex disputes.

Requirements

  • Experience in complex civil litigation, preferably in the construction arena, claims management, or the design/construction industry.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice in any of the 50 United States.
  • Interest in construction projects.
  • Capable of independent work.
  • Organized and efficient work manner.
  • Superior research and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and analyze complex matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
