Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney with 3 to 6 years of experience to join their practice in New York, focusing on defending complex general liability matters. The ideal candidate is proactive, motivated, and organized, with superior writing skills. The Associate will engage with clients and insurers on various insurance claims.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of 25-30 matters.
• Take depositions and attend hearings and mediations.
• Draft and submit pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis.
• Draft discovery requests and responses.
• Review and analyze documents for production.
• Investigate claims and prepare case strategies.
• Report to insurance carrier clients and insureds.
• Prepare cases for trial/mediation and participate in them.

Requirements

• J.D. degree.
• Litigation experience.
• Experience taking depositions.
• Excellent academic credentials.
