Job Overview
A law firm seeks a highly qualified Capital Markets Associate to join its Corporate Department in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in public securities and general corporate work at a nationally recognized law firm.

Duties

  • Represent public and private companies, investment banks, and investors in securities offerings and compliance.
  • Draft and negotiate key legal documents for corporate and securities transactions.
  • Engage in transactions involving non-U.S. companies and strategic transactions for public companies.

 

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience at a nationally recognized law firm.
  • Experience with 1934 Exchange Act reporting and compliance.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Client-team focused approach.

 

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

 

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois.

 

Skills

  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Experience with corporate governance.
  • Ability to work on strategic transactions such as mergers and going private transactions.
