BCG Attorney Search speaks with attorneys about law firms every day. Here is what attorneys are saying:

did not always feel like I was treated fairly and that my work was not always appreciated.

Alston & Bird is a large law firm with deep roots and a long history. It has offices in many major cities throughout the U.S. and is known for its work in corporate law, intellectual property, and banking. Reviews of the firm from attorneys and others who have worked there reveal a generally positive experience. Associates have praised A&B for its excellent partners who care about the associates, a good firm culture, and a great flagship office in Atlanta. The firm is also noted for its commitment to diversity, with associates citing a friendly atmosphere and a supportive attitude towards racial and sexual diversity.

However, there have been some criticisms leveled at Alston & Bird as well. Associates have noted that while the bonus structure has been revised since they left, there still may be room for improvement in that regard. Additionally, some associates have noted that there can be unpredictability in the workload at times, and that intimidating attorneys can be present in the firm. Finally, while the job may involve a lot of work and long hours, some associates have noted that they did not always feel like their work was appreciated or that they were treated fairly.

Overall, the reviews of Alston & Bird generally paint a picture of a professional and welcoming atmosphere that upholds diversity and provides associates with an excellent experience. While there may be the occasional criticism of the firm, most of the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with associates noting that it is an excellent place to work and learn.

Pros: 5.0 Former Employee, more than 10 yearsGreat mentorship and great leadershipEnterprise Services Engineer ProsI worked at ATL office with a great group of people. My mentor/boss was very welcoming and has set a good example not just to me but the entire team. I worked with other teams as well on daily basis and experience was very good. My boss assembled a good team, that makes working a positive experience. We are all Jedi Knights. Outside of work, we also get together to socialize and have fun. Kudos to ESG team and leadership.ConsIt goes with the job/role. We work long hours because we are problem solvers but also enjoy it while doing it. Some issues take longer, methodical to resolve. Some weekends too, but that is what I signed up for. It came with territory and was expected. However, it does feel good when you help resolve an issue, or accomplish and complete a project, and be part of a collective effort and get recognized for it (individually and as a team).
