Jones Day is a prominent and respected law firm with offices across the globe. Many reviews report that the firm offers a unique experience due to its extensive trial support, exhibit and deposition prep, and non-JD document review opportunities. The firm is also noted for its generous benefits and compensation, which include retirement funds, tutorial classes to improve skills, and perks such as a gym in the building, free lunches, and holiday celebrations.

However, some reviews have noted that the firm has a "black box" policy when it comes to compensation transparency, and can be overly eager to put new hires through a trial-by-hire process without much training. Additionally, annual reviews can be unsatisfying because partners are too busy to take staff-level reviews seriously, and provide too little actionable feedback. As such, staff members need to be prepared to fight to convince reviewing partners of their value.
