The firm offers a competitive salary that is based on a set, lock-step scale. 1st year associates at Cooley's receive a top notch benefits package, which includes a salary of $160,000 per year. In 2012, the summer associate salary for 1Ls and 2Ls was US$3,077 per week.

Among other compensation the firm offers bar stipend, bar review course and bar exam reimbursement, clerkship bonus for certain judicial clerkships, discretionary bonuses and moving and relocation allowances.

The firm also gives bonuses to all eligible associates. Bonus is determined on the basis of hours billed, quality of work and the firm's revenues.
