BGD was founded as Mack & Bonya in 1976. Mack & Bonya began as a two-person, general civil practice firm. From the start, the firm served local residents and businesses in general legal matters. As a result of the strong coal, oil and gas industries in the area, the firm developed an emphasis in those areas of practice. Through the years, Mack & Bonya grew and has become BGD. Since its start, founding member John Bonya has been joined by partners Beverly Gazza, Stan DeGory, David Zimmerman, and, most recently, Chris Buell and Erin Rice Petrillo. With eight lawyers now, BGD is the largest firm in Indiana County. Over the years, BGD expanded its areas of practice to include real estate, commercial transactions, estate planning and administration, environmental law and others. For five decades, we have been a presence in Indiana County. BGD's practice also extends to all of western Pennsylvania, and we routinely help out-of-state clients with legal issues in Pennsylvania.
