That's a good question. Typically a bad lawyer in a lateral interview will not talk with a lot of enthusiasm about what they're doing. They will be unfocused a lot of times they won't make eye contact.
You can also see if the person's had a lot of positions. That's usually not a good sign. Gaps in employment are not a good sign. Unexplained reasons for not working or not a good sign. Anything that kind of shows a lack of commitment and focus. Many times people that have been working on multiple different things is not a good sign.
And it also depends on what you're hiring for. So if you're hiring for someone to be. Work for businesses or are in someone to work for individuals have a kind of depend on that as well. That's a great question and certainly a lot of ways to spot bad attorneys and interviews.
