Okay, the first thing is it's better to start when you're young. Especially for a young attorney, you're always better off starting at the best firm you can. The reason for this is just because for most attorneys, depending on your practice area and location and so forth, in New York City, it's much easier to get into an Am Law 20 law firm or a really good law firm like that right out of law school.
Many times, they're just a lateral and it depends on the practice area and other issues, but you're much better off starting at the best spot as you can. And that's just the kind of the world that most people follow. Most people will start at the best law firm, they possibly can. So that's just something to think about when you're joining firms.
