What's The Best Way to Reactivate a Network
[00:00:00] What would you recommend are the best ways to reactivate a network if you've been away from the legal profession for some time (several years) and want to jump back to working in a law firm in a senior position?
That's a good question. If you've been away from the legal profession for a while and you want to jump in, your network does not necessarily going to trust you anymore, because they don't know, why you were away for several years. Why would you want to jump back into a law firm?
What I would do is just, call people that you may have worked with in the past set up lunch meetings. If people aren't having lunch, then set up phone calls and talk to them and ask them if they know about any things that you can go to, or anybody you can talk to and just network with them.
So again, the idea would be to create a list of people that you know, contact them, ask them how they're doing.
Wait for them to ask about you. And when they do, are you ready to say, you're thinking about going back.
