"Is there any region in particular where the markets are particularly good for somebody who does not have any immediate contacts?"Yeah. So Texas is good. Any market where there's not a lot of people like you. So that would mean any market where there's not a lot of attorneys with your specific type of background, or they do the kind of work you do, would be good.
Any market where there's just not a lot of attorneys trying to work there, is also good. I think that's a lot of information, but when I'm talking to attorneys about relocating, I typically will tell them about markets where not a lot of people are trying to relocate. It depends on your practice area but frankly, there's certain practice areas which are things like, most consumer-facing practice areas, like immigration, family law, you can relocate to lots and lots places with those. And then corporate in most markets, it just depends on the practice area. But Texas right now is a booming market, and a lot of markets are doing very well. The best markets to move if you don't have contacts are typically the largest cities, which are things like New York and Washington DC because they don't really question people relocating there. But then the type of experience you need is a little bit different.
