Description:
In this video, Harrison Barnes mentions that you don’t want to brag on your resume. You want to allow people to reach conclusions. There are many reasons to avoid bragging on your resume. Here are some of the reasons:
- Bragging about your accomplishments can make you seem arrogant.
- It’s not necessary to list every single thing you’ve ever done in the legal field.
- You may be tempted to exaggerate with your resume, which will only cause more problems.
- If you’re bragging on your attorney resume, it could come off as if you are looking for a fight, which is not what most companies want from an employee.
- A braggy attorney resume can have the opposite effect of showing employers how qualified and professional they think they are
- Bragging on your attorney resume might show potential employers that you don’t take anything seriously or need to worry because everything will work out for them anyway.

Okay international tax, agent estate planning, trust service.
This is actually a very good resume for a lot of reasons. I don't like the stuff at the top. But at the same time the th this is a complex type of law. And this almost reads to be honest with you, like a It's very interesting.
I wouldn't say number one, investment, mark mortgage. I would just say I've been charged developing that for tax as well. Transfers responsible. Yeah, this is interesting. So this stuff here all these things you're talking about being an international liar and having all of these experiences I would figure out the best way to integrate everything that you're saying up here into your actual resume.
So that would be how I would do that. So I would try to get all that information in your resume and then and then, people don't necessarily
yeah, people don't necessarily need to know what's the number one, investment Martin, the number one investment company and all this sort of stuff. You don't need to tell people that, knowing Penn life, everyone knows what Penn mutual their, the company has. So I wouldn't just, again, the stuff where you spell things out and important, but this is very good.
I just would, and I don't know, you want to call it achievements saying just that you developed these strategies and so forth is probably okay. One of the things I like about what he did up here at night, and typically we've been attacking people for not attacking, but since it's not a good idea is because this is actually it gives people an idea that you can do all this stuff and kind of form countries and and work in.
And so I'm a little bit mixed. I would usually say to take this out, and most of the people that are doing this are just kind of normal attorneys or normal corporate attorneys are litigators and that sort of thing, but you tend to, you actually have a very interesting background. And and I like I don't know why but it it explains what you do a little better than other stuff at the top international lawyer experienced in MBA.
I, you don't need to tell people that the return in your resume something about, all of this other stuff is probably useful.
Yeah, but then this is so suddenly here, you're doing strategy. Oh, I see you're doing this and now you're doing business development and then you were sales director. This is an interesting resume. I don't, there's a lot of very good things about it. And again, it's it's very common. I've seen a lot of foreign resumes today which is fine, but you need to it needs to have a focus to it.
And a lot of times you don't want to brag on your resume. You want to basically allow people to reach conclusions. So you can see here, number one, investment brokerage save up to 40% of state, all these sort of things are fine, but you need to make sure that you're doing what you can to simplify all this information and make things very easy for people to read and really telling a consistent story.
So when I see this, I'm saying, when people use the words like strategy or, strategy, what that suggest to me what I'm just telling you, what us people think. You know what I think that this person is just, basically going to sit down and give me a lot of ideas and just be asked me to take my money.
That's what strategy means to me. And that's every time I hear someone say that or consultant that's a lot of times what happens not always, but a lot of times. And so you need to have some consistency in your in your resume and and the resume needs to really be focused in terms of describing where you're doing.
Cause if you're doing business development, no, one's going to hire you to be a trust in the state attorney. And you can get a job as trust instead of training, you get a job in a law firm in the U S as a trust and estates attorney, especially in this market, but the resume has to be it has to be easy to read and it has to make sure make if you just said wealth planning, business planning, and taking this crap off, driving innovation, people hate this crap, but you can't say stuff like that.
Family business if you just talk about what you do okay, And then you just basically listed where you worked and said, you could those things with a couple of lines, then you're going to get interviews. But if people have to read through this and I'm just getting busy and looking at it, and I know what you do, and I like it.
But you want to look very focused and, and then you start talking about all these memberships and all that stuff. So this is a good resume, but again, everybody that, thinks they need to list everything, they're doing all their achievements, all the different things that have happened.
You don't, you just need to and no one cares about where this person is born either. This is, I'm going to skip past this one. Not just make a couple of comments, this is another form resumes. Everybody, that's foreign resume. You should really look at what I'm saying about US-based resumes and look at those hearsay.
