"Should you go to a lower ranked law school with a scholarship, or should you go to a higher ranked law school with no scholarship?"
My opinion is you should go to the highest ranked law school you can. The cost of your law school does not balance out not going to the best law school you can.
People worry about the debt, but the interest rates are very low. There's inflation. There's just all sorts of reasons that you want to go to the best possible law school you can. And you can get better jobs going to a better law school than even if you do really well at a local law school. I work with candidates all the time that may be the first in their class at a really good local law school that want to work in other markets and they can get jobs all day in the market that they're in other markets, they just don't get a great reception. Whereas if they had gone to a major law school, they would have gotten a reception in other markets. Now, even if you want to stay local, you don't know how well you're going to do in law school. Certain people catch on fast than others. I think you're much better off going to the best law school you possibly can. That's what I would definitely recommend doing.
