"For someone that did not get a job as a summer associate as a 2L, should I just mass mail continuously to get a job as a 3L or will it prevent me from working in a large law firm even if I'm coming from a top law school?"
No, you can always get a job in a large law firm. You can get it even if you don't get a job in a big law firm right out of law school, you can get it even if you started in a government position, you can always get into a large law firm later on. You just have to think about that.
There's actually an interesting podcast I did yesterday, that'll be live on our site shortly. And, it talks about being strategic versus tactical. So just because you have some short-term setbacks does not prevent you from ever working in a large law firm again.
