Commercial Litigation Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a 3rd-4th year associate to join the Commercial Litigation Practice Group in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex business litigation matters in state and federal courts and demonstrate strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills.

Duties

• Conduct and manage written and document discovery.
• Research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Appear for status conferences and argue motions in court.
• Participate in settlement conferences and negotiations.
• Assist with trial preparation.

Requirements

• Experience with complex business litigation in state and federal courts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
• Comfortable with direct interaction with partners and clients.
• Ability to thrive in a busy, collaborative environment.

Education

• JD from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing of the Texas Bar.
